The Experiential workshop on FAKE NEWS – TRAINING OUR YOUNG PEOPLE TO COME FACE WITH THEM is conducted by the Non-Profit Organization A.E.I. AUDIOVISUAL FORUM in collaboration with the Network of Corporate Schools UNESCO Cyprus, and with the support of ONEK and TETRAKTY FILMS.
The spread of fake news and conspiracy theories during the pandemic took on enormous proportions and created a new field of study. The aim of the Project is to study the degree of information of students about this topic and their ability to identify them. The Project will follow both quantitative and qualitative methodology.
To make known what students know about the topic, there will be an experiential workshop that will include non-formal learning activities and informative presentation as well as questionnaires before and after the experiential workshop. A sample of the Project will be 32 Secondary Education students attending a High School located within the Troodos region (rural area) and one in the city of Nicosia (urban area), aged 15-16. Upon completion of the Project there will be a written report on the findings of the research and a short video that will be produced as part of it for promotional purposes.
