CINeDUCATION
In the framework of the mission of the non-profit cultural organisation A.E.I. AUDIOVISUAL FORUM for the development of skills of our young people, through innovative educational actions, on subjects dealing with cultural heritage, and audiovisual literacy, where at the same time contribute to the development of critical thinking and empathy, the program of film workshops CINeDUCATION was developed.
The title of the Action CINeDUCATION contains the philosophy of the Institution, namely that it is an innovative educational Action of non-formal learning, where beyond its educational dimension it is also informational and entertaining, using contemporary digital tools.
CINeDUCATION is implemented on an annual basis since 2018, always in cooperation with the UNESCO Corporate Schools Network (ASPnet) Cyprus.
It is mainly addressed to students and teachers of Secondary Education and to university students and professors in Cyprus.
During the first seven years (2018-2024) of the successful implementation of CINeDUCATION, more than 1400 students and 200 secondary school teachers and 120 students and 13 higher education teachers have acquired skills in film production, with emphasis on the genre of documentary.
At the same time, 90 ten-minute documentaries have been created with a variety of interesting topics from the cultural heritage and history of Cyprus.
These documentaries are posted on our website and are available for educational purposes and for participation in film festivals for children and young people.
The CINeDUCATION Action is financially supported by 70% by our institutional sponsors whom we thank warmly:
The Department of Contemporary and Modern Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus which is the main sponsor, the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO and the Cyprus Radio-television Authority which support the Action financially and through the establishment of cash prizes for the best documentaries created through this Action:
The remaining 30% of the cost of the Action is covered by the voluntary work of the core team of the Organisation and its partners.
Any additional support from organisations or individuals with sensitivity to issues of Education and Culture and who recognise the contribution of this Action to the development of audiovisual education and the cultivation of cultural heritage among the youth of Cyprus, is welcomed.

Our goal and vision is for these film workshops along with the upgrading of the produced documentaries into interactive educational tools to become part of the educational process for the history class and to be adopted by all schools in our small country.
School Workshops
The student documentaries that are implemented through CINeDUCATION are eligible for the following cash prizes:
The three cash prizes of the Cyprus Radio – television Authority can be claimed by documentaries created only by high school student groups:
1st Prize: 500 Euros
2nd prize: 300 Euros
3rd Prize: 200 Euros
The Special Award of the Cypriot National Commission for UNESCO can be claimed by all teams participating in the CINeDUCATION program, provided that the subject of the documentary is directly related to the Cultural Heritage of Cyprus.
The CINeDUCATION Educational Action contributes to the recognition that Culture and Cultural Heritage constitute an extremely important intellectual background and that the memories they carry form a cohesive link, a common reference point and a source of security for peoples.
This innovative educational action is a source of knowledge and intellectual culture over time and the active participation of our young people as shareholders of the past and creators of the future, contribute to the protection and promotion of cultural heritage by using their creativity and abilities as young people.
Finally, the participating school and student groups can be a model and a means of raising awareness among our young people on issues of safeguarding and preserving our cultural heritage.
